Google Launches Gemini 3.7 Flash, Its Strongest Model for Coding

Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new AI model focused on coding, AI agents, web development, and complex multi-step tasks.

The release comes shortly after Google’s recent expansion of its Gemini lineup with Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber, targeting different performance, efficiency, and cybersecurity needs.

The release follows Google’s recent Gemini model updates, with the company now adding another Flash model to the lineup.

Gemini 3.7 Flash Targets Coding And AI Agents

Google calls Gemini 3.7 Flash its most intelligent “workhorse” model yet for coding and agents.

The company says the model improves software engineering, web development, document understanding, and multi-step problem-solving.

What Improved:

  • On FrontierCode 1.1 Main, Gemini 3.7 Flash scored 43.6%, compared with 34.4% for Gemini 3.6 Flash.
  • On DeepSWE v1.1, Gemini 3.7 Flash reached 65.3%, up from 49% for Gemini 3.6 Flash.
  • Its WebDev Arena score also increased from 1538 to 1588 Elo, according to Google.

What Gemini 3.7 Flash Can Do

Launching on 13 August 2026, Gemini 3.7 Flash is designed to handle more complicated workflows rather than simply respond to individual prompts.

Google says it can plan tasks, use tools, react to problems during execution, and continue working toward a goal with fewer retries.

That makes the model particularly relevant to AI agents, which need to complete multiple steps and interact with tools to accomplish a task.

Announced on August 13, 2026, Gemini 3.7 Flash is designed to handle more complex workflows across coding, web development, and knowledge work.

Google says it can plan tasks, use tools, respond to problems during execution, and continue working toward a goal with fewer retries.

That makes the model particularly relevant to AI agents, which need to complete multiple steps and interact with tools to accomplish tasks.

Robby Stein, VP of Product for Google Search, highlighted its improvements in instruction following and intent understanding:

“Gemini 3.7 Flash is better at following instructions + understanding your intent, so you get even more helpful responses.”

Gemini 3.7 Flash is also rolling out as a selectable model in Google AI Mode for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in English. Its improved ability to follow instructions and understand intent could make the model more useful for AI-powered search experiences.

Why Google Introduced Another Model Within Weeks

Google introduced Gemini 3.6 Flash only weeks ago, making the arrival of Gemini 3.7 Flash notable.

The rapid update reflects Google’s push to improve Flash models for more demanding tasks, particularly coding, tool use, and multi-step workflows.

Rather than focusing only on speed and efficiency, Google is increasingly positioning its Flash lineup for agentic AI, where models can plan tasks, use tools, and complete multiple actions with less human intervention.

Availability And Pricing

Google announced that Gemini 3.7 Flash is available to developers through its AI platforms and to businesses through Gemini Enterprise. The model is also coming to Spark, Google’s personal AI agent.

The introductory API price is $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through December 31, 2026.

Google’s latest Flash release shows how AI models are moving beyond generating answers toward systems that can plan, use tools, and complete increasingly complex tasks.
