Google Search Console Introduces Platform Properties for Social Media Accounts

Now, social media creators can see how their content is performing in Google Search. This is possible because Google has introduced Platform Properties in Search Console.

With this, creators can track their search performance across platforms like Instagram,  TikTok, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter), rather than just on websites. It allows creators to understand how people discover their content through Google Search.

What’s New?

Previously, only website owners could track their search performance with Google Search Console. But with Platform Properties, creators can easily view search data for their social media accounts directly in Google Search Console.

The report includes 4 key metrics: clicks, impressions, average CTR, and average position. Using this, creators can easily analyse what content type brings the most searches for them. By default, Platform Properties display performance data from the last 28 days, making it quick to measure the performance.

Creators no longer have to rely solely on their social media platforms for analytics; they can use Search Console directly.

Why This Update Matters

Google Search is a common way for people to discover videos, social media posts, tutorials, and much more. That’s why understanding how social media content performs in search can not be ignored.

Google keeps improving the Search features. For example, recently, Google removed FAQ rich results from its Search, highlighting how the platform evolves constantly.

What Should Creators Do?

Creators do not specifically need to change anything, but it’s a smart choice to start using Platform Properties in Google Search Console.

A few things creators can do:

  • Check if your social media accounts are supported.
  • Track the impressions, clicks, and search queries.
  • Check which content performs the best in Google Search.
  • Use the Insights to improve future content.

What This Means for Creators

The amount of social media content Google Search results show has increased significantly in recent times. As highlighted during Google I/O 2026, Google is expanding ways users discover content across Search. This creates a need for creators to have a better tool to measure their content performance.

With the introduction of Platform Properties, not just website owners but creators and businesses can track their social media content and make smarter content decisions.
