Google Launches Gemini 4 Argon: Features, Price, and Access

Google has launched Gemini 4 Argon, its latest frontier AI model, for developers, businesses, and eligible consumers.

In its September 30, 2026 announcement, Google initially opened access to selected cybersecurity defenders. Now, on October 13, 2026, Google expanded the model’s availability globally.

Gemini 4 Argon is designed to handle complex tasks across software engineering, finance, legal analysis, cybersecurity, and scientific research.

The launch intensifies competition in the advanced AI market. Here’s a look at Gemini 4 Argon’s key features, pricing, and accessibility.

What Is Gemini 4 Argon?

Gemini 4 Argon is Google’s advanced reasoning model, built to work through complex problems that require more than a single response.

It targets professional workflows such as analyzing large amounts of information, developing software, and completing tasks with AI agents.

Google says Argon can maintain context across long workflows and perform well across several professional domains. The company has also published a model card detailing its capabilities, evaluations, and known limitations.

Gemini 4 Argon Features and Capabilities

The main features of Gemini 4 Argon include:

  • 1-million-token context window: Processes large inputs across text, images, audio, video, and PDF files.

  • Advanced coding: Supports complex software engineering, code refactoring, and debugging tasks.

  • Agent-based workflows: Supports function calling, search grounding, file search, and computer use in preview.

  • Scientific reasoning: Targets demanding mathematical and scientific problems.

  • Cybersecurity capabilities: Helps identify and patch software vulnerabilities.

Google also reports that engineers using Argon in its Antigravity development platform increased agentic code submissions by more than 35% and reduced code rollbacks by nearly one-third. These are Google’s reported internal results, not independent industry-wide benchmarks.

How Much Does Gemini 4 Argon Cost?

Google has introduced the following API pricing for Gemini 4 Argon:

API usage Introductory price
Input tokens $2 per million
Output tokens $10 per million

The introductory rates apply through November 30, 2026. From December 1, the announced prices increase to $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens. Cached input tokens receive a 95% discount under the announced pricing.

Where to Access Gemini 4 Argon?

Gemini 4 Argon is available through several Google products, although access depends on the platform and subscription.

  • Developers: Access the model through the paid tier Gemini API and Google AI Studio.

  • Businesses: Use Gemini 4 Argon through the Gemini API, Gemini for business, and Google Antigravity.
  • Consumers: Access through the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription.

  • Antigravity users: Google AI Ultra subscribers can access the model through Google Antigravity and Google AI Studio.

  • Researchers: Eligible scientists and researchers can apply for six months of access to Antigravity’s highest usage tier, subject to selection and availability.

Google is also accepting applications from eligible researchers for six months of access to Antigravity’s highest usage tier.

What Gemini 4 Argon Means for the AI Industry

Gemini 4 Argon signals Google’s growing focus on AI models that can complete complex work, rather than simply generate answers.

Its capabilities put it in direct competition with advanced models from OpenAI and Anthropic, particularly in coding, research, and business workflows.

For digital marketers, the development could make AI useful for deeper research, technical analysis, and workflow automation. The real question is whether these capabilities deliver reliable results that businesses can use at scale.

For now, marketers should watch how the model performs in real-world tasks rather than assume that a new AI launch will automatically change SEO.
