Google Site Kit Gives WordPress Users Clearer Insights Into Sales and Leads

Google has made Site Goals fully available in Site Kit 1.187.0, making it easier for WordPress website owners to understand what happens after visitors arrive at their sites.

With Site Goals, Site Kit can surface business actions such as purchases, add-to-cart activity, and lead submissions directly in the WordPress dashboard.

The feature brings conversion-focused reporting into Site Kit, giving website owners more context than traffic and pageview numbers alone.

What Changed in Site Kit 1.187.0?

Site Goals gives WordPress users a dedicated area for viewing conversion-related website actions.

The Site Goals dashboard has two main sections:

 1. Online store performance
 2. Lead generation performance

Google’s official Site Goals documentation explains that the feature automatically surfaces conversion data in the Site Kit dashboard when supported events and plugins are detected.

What Sales and Lead Data Can Site Kit Show?

For ecommerce sites, Site Kit can surface purchase and add_to_cart events. Website owners can see metrics including total sales, sales rate, products added to carts, and add-to-cart rate.

For lead-generation websites, Site Goals can report events such as submit_lead_form, contact, and generate_lead. This includes information such as total form completions and form completion rates.

Site Kit Shows Which Pages Drive Sales and Leads

The new reporting goes beyond showing the number of conversions.

Site Kit can identify top pages driving sales and leads and show the traffic channels associated with those actions. Website owners can also break down conversion information by factors such as device, visitor type, city, country, and author.

For example, an ecommerce site can see which pages are contributing to sales, while a service business can identify the pages and traffic sources generating the most leads.

This gives WordPress users a more direct way to connect website activity with business outcomes, similar to how marketers increasingly measure AI-driven traffic alongside traditional organic traffic.

Which WordPress Plugins Work With Site Goals?

Google has connected Site Goals with several popular WordPress plugins through Site Kit’s plugin conversion tracking.

For online stores, supported plugins include:

  • WooCommerce
  • Easy Digital Downloads.

For lead generation, supported plugins include

  • Contact Form 7
  • Mailchimp
  • Ninja Forms
  • OptinMonster
  • Popup Maker
  •  WPForms.

Google notes that support for additional plugins may be added in future releases.

What Else Is New in Site Kit?

Site Goals is not the only change in the release.

  • Site Kit 1.187.0 adds pagination_click event tracking.
This gives Site Kit additional information about pagination interactions.
  • Site Kit 1.187.0 adds embedded video event tracking.
This expands the types of user interactions that Site Kit can measure.
  • Site Kit 1.187.0 adds an “Add Features” admin menu item.
Google says the menu currently includes a placeholder screen for the Feature Discovery Hub.

The release also includes changes to email reports, Reader Revenue Manager setup, and Site Health information.

What Do WordPress Users Need?

To use Site Goals, a website needs Google Analytics connected to Site Kit, along with supported plugin conversion tracking where applicable.

Once the required setup is in place, Site Kit can detect relevant conversion events and surface the available information in its dashboard.

The addition fits into Site Kit’s broader role as a central dashboard for Google’s website tools, including Search Console, Analytics, PageSpeed Insights, and AdSense.

As AI search engines become another discovery channel, marketers also need to understand whether that visibility leads to meaningful website actions.

For WordPress site owners, the important shift is that Site Kit can put more emphasis on what visitors do, helping them see whether website activity is contributing to sales, cart activity, and leads
